Trivia SET UP pROCESS

Follow these in order of how they are listed:

Option 1: Matrix System

A Matrix System broadcasts out video to all or some TV’s connected to it. This is the easiest set up because you can connect to multiple TV from one location. If the venue has a matrix system, follow the steps below.

  • A. Matrix System with a laptop or computer connected to it.

    • Plug the USB directly into the computer

    • Locate the USB folder on the computer

    • Select “Trivia Round 1” folder

    • Choose between these options & select one folder depending on what we have selected for that venue “(1-25)”, “(26-50)”, “(51-75)”, OR “(76-100)”

    • Select “(A) TV Video” folder

    • Select the Video- “Friends Trivia Video Questions (8hr)”

    • Wait to make sure it changes to the next slide to verify it is playing

    • The questions continually loop for 8hrs, every slide is set at 60 seconds except for the first slide plays for 30 seconds

  • B. Matrix System without a laptop or computer connected to it but has a HDMI cable from their system

    • Plug the USB into the Media Player and then plug their HDMI cable in to the Media Player (the other end should already be connected to their matrix)

    • The media player screen should come up

    • Now use the media player remote and point it at the media player

    • Select the “Movie” icon

    • Select “USB Drive”

    • Select “SCSI_DISK_00(F”

    • Select “Trivia Round 1” folder

    • Choose between these options & select one folder depending on what we have selected for that venue “(1-25)”, “(26-50)”, “(51-75)”, OR “(76-100)”

    • Select “(C) Media Player” folder

    • Select the Video- “Friends Trivia Video Questions”

    • Wait to make sure it changes to the next slide to verify it is playing

    • It should continually loop for the whole time, every slide is set at 60 seconds except for the first slide plays for 30 seconds

Option 2: Plugging the USB directly into the USB input on the TV

  • See if the venue has a TV remote (this makes it easier to navigate the TV)

    • Original TV remotes work best.

    • Universal remotes can work but are harder to use.

  • Put the USB into the USB input on the TV

  • If the USB media launch option comes up automatically then select this and launch it

  • If not, select Source or Options from the TV or Remote to find where the USB source comes from on the TV

  • Find the USB source (this would not be HDMI)

  • If you can't find a USB option, it might be under a TV media player setting or Media

    • If it took 30 sec to change to the next slide, then you will go back and select “X2 if 30 sec per slide” folder

    • If it took 10 sec to change to the next slide, then you will go back and select “X6 if 10 sec per slide” folder

    • After you figure out which folder, select “Friends Trivia Slideshow Questions ()”

    • Wait to make sure it changes to the next slide to verify it is playing
